This is a fun and somewhat cringe-inducing piece.
A friend recently reminded me of my first AOL screen name: beachebumm85. Cheeseball for sure, but when I was 14, I thought it was so clever. Because I lived at the Jersey Shore and loved the beach and all.

Metal M@rio. I was seriously into videogames back then. And, you know, replacing the ‘a’ in your username by an ‘@’ is soooooo cool. Then, as part of an internet forum game, I ‘died’, so I became ‘Ghost Of Metal M@rio’.
About a year later, I changed it to Devil Bottles, you guessed it, another videogame character.
Then, at about the same time I hit puberty *cough*, I changed for ‘Jeff Berg’. I still use it occasionally.
